Engelbert Farms is a certified organic dairy farm, certified by Vermont Organic Farmers (NOFA-VT). It is a true family farm, farming in the same location since 1911. Kevin, Lisa and our three sons, Kris, Joe and John all actively work on the farm. We have been farming organically since 1981. No chemicals are ever used on our fields, and no antibiotics or hormones are ever used on our animals. CERTIFIED ORGANIC In 2003 beef and veal were added to our organic certificate, and in 2005 we added pork. Since 2004 we have been raising many of our bull calves for beef and pasture-raised veal. We buy piglets from other certified organic farmers to raise for our pork. Our cows live out their lives as dairy cows happily munching high quality, certified organic grass, hay and small amounts of corn grown on our own farm. During the grazing season, the cows are on a fresh plot of grass daily. Beef animals are raised on pasture and fed very little grain. No animal by-products are ever fed to our animals. “No chemicals ever used on our land or Animals!” |
